Chex Muddy Buddies

The Coupon Wallet

I don't much care for these because I have a nice (and cheaper) accordion folder that is small enough to carry around like a clutch, but my husband actually liked the design of this one!

Feeling Better--In the Middle of the Night!

Somebody is up and bouncing around because she feels better. Even had to put on a dress she got last night.

Everyone else wants to go to bed though!

Found

My husband found one of these at work Monday and no one claimed it:
There's no band but it isn't scratched up either. Kind of strange.

What have you found in the past?

Sunday Papers...

This week is the first time that I've bought two Sunday papers for the coupons. We've finally gotten to the point that we aren't just shopping and using coupons for what we need, but what we will need and are starting to stockpile. (Must be because it's winter--I'm used to doing that!)

It's the same price to buy papers from the store as it is to have them delivered out here. So, I've just been saving either RR's or ECB's to get them free Sunday mornings when we go out shopping for the week. That also gives us all the ads to figure out what we need to get "right this minute" as well as the ability to price match at Walmart so we don't have to drive 40 miles to the closest big city with lots more shopping options.

How many papers or inserts do you get each week?

Infant Advil Drops .5 Oz Deal at Walgreens: $0.78 for 2!

If you have the $1.10 manufacturer's coupon, Walgreens has a coupon in their ad this week for $2 off. They are normally $4.99, but that makes them $1.89 a piece!

Major bonus: If you buy two--at least at our store--you'll get $3 RR's back. So that's like paying $0.78 for two if you stack the coupons with both of them! What a steal!

Remember: Most Walmart's will accept RR's as a coupon, because it is a manufacturer's coupon, and you can use it on anything and even get cash back! So you don't just have to spend it at Walgreens!

Serve: $20 Free! Sign Up Now Before They Start Charging!

*To receive a $10 credit to your Serve account, you must complete account registration for a new Serve account by January 5, 2012. Offer limited to legal residents of the 50 U.S. & D.C., 18 or older. Valid for new Serve account holders only. Offer is subject to change or cancellation at any time.

After you sign up and validate your account for your free $10, play the Money Mover game:
Answer a question correctly and get another $10 credit! You don't have to answer right the first time--as I didn't because the game didn't load the first question and I ran out of time--because you will get more chances with different questions.

You even have the chance to win $1000 by answering the question on Twitter and following them! (They will send you an email within 24 to 72 hours for your extra $10 credit, but I am unsure of the Twitter one. Assuming the same.)

Once you get all your credits, you can click the "withdraw" link that is under your account fund total on the overview screen (main account screen, under total money amount, on the right-hand side--straight across from the Recent Transactions title) and have a check sent to you for no additional fee!

Note: I clicked the link in the verification email and that did not work. I had to go to the account, click the "enter verification code" link at the top of the overview and input the code from the email manually. You will not get the original $10 credit if you do not add this!

Additionally: If you think this may be a scam, please read the press release from earlier this year by clicking here.

Shopping Today

Got $3 EBC's at CVS twice today. Buy 7 oz. Combos for $4 for 2 and get $2 EBC back. Buy 2 64 oz. Ocean Spray juices for $5 and get $1 EBC back. Used my card and my husbands.

Walgreens was a mess. Their computers weren't ringing up the store coupons for the ad automatically (they haven't been for two weeks now) and some of the prices on stuff on the shelf was wrong. Did manage to get Infants Advil .5 oz. drops for $1.89 after a $2 off store coupon and a $1.10 manufacturers coupon. Their sale on Axe body spray is pretty good too, with the $1 RR. Used the $5 Jingle Cash from yesterday (because it started today) and got another $5 JC we get to use next weekend.

Since Walgreens had already had their Maalox gone for the BOGO sale that started today, headed over to Walmart to pick those up. Did a price match and used two manufacturers coupons of $1.50 to make them only $?1.79 for 2!

Only problem being that the woman on the register was rather rude to my husband (who had all three kids and was doing this while I was getting other stuff) because she wasn't used to doing price matches. Once she called her manager and had them explain it to her, she refused to add the coupons because "I already did this [the price match]." My husband told her if she didn't want to do it, he'd just go to another lane. Hehe. She gave up arguing after that. Thankfully, there are very few people at our Walmart that don't enjoy people that coupon. (Same thing at Walgreens! The managers are so nice even though we've had a ton of trouble at the registers lately!)

Bad thing though: The car died at Walmart. Hopefully it's just the battery and nothing major. (We need a new transmission and can't possibly afford it!) It didn't want to start later this evening either, but started up just fine a couple of minutes later. If it will only last until Friday, we'll have enough money to get a new battery!

Shouldn't have to go shopping again until this weekend, unless we happen to be out because we missed something--like potatoes, I know we need potatoes--but I am thinking about getting a phone this weekend for pretty cheap, at least compared to what my husband paid for his on sale a few months ago!

Daily giveaways (like gift cards) until Christmas!

Shopping Last Night

Went to CVS, Walgreens, & Walmart.

At CVS we knocked the price down from $79+ to $54, as well as a $10 gift card and $3 ECBs. (And a raincheck for what they didn't have in stock since it was the last day of their sales.) The lady did take one of our coupons without it being used and shoved it in the register though...

Walgreens had my husband's drinks on sale, so we grabbed a ton of those and sugar since it was on sale and we had coupons. They didn't have any sale water left, so they substituted a more expensive brand for sale price and refunded us the difference in cash, plus giving us $1 in cash for the RR's we should have gotten.

Our last stop was Walmart because we had to price match several things. Got a 40 count bag of trash bags that were marked at $10.47 for $5 because of Dollar General's ad. Price matched Walgreens' ad for their Duct Tape to make the packaging tape $0.99 and had a coupon for $1, which gave us $0.01 back. Printed out two coupons on Rayovac's Facebook page for a $1 off any Alkaline batteries and used those on the $0.98 Heavy Duty for a $0.02 overage.

Did have to go back to Walmart because they had diet Pepsi on sale for $2.98 per 12-pack and we were charged $3.98, which is strange because it's normally $3.48! They just rung it back up again and handed us the $3.21 back in cash.

So we went from having no money on hand to having $6 in cash without taking anything off of the card, as well as $5 Jingle Cash (JC) from Walgreens, $1 ECB left over from earlier in the week and another $3 on my account and $2 on my husbands', and a $10 CVS gift card.

Didn't get a whole lot of free stuff, as the printer ran out of ink toward the end of my printing frenzy yesterday. Still managed to get those eight free AA batteries and a pretty cool roll of packaging tape though. Saving over half while shopping is pretty good for us, all things considered. (We didn't really start doing this until earlier this year.) I just hope each week gets a little better!

My Coke Rewards (& Memories)

When my grandmother was still alive, she only drank Coka Cola. She couldn't stand to drink water--it made her sick--and her doctors told her as long as she drank something, she'd be fine.

If only we had bothered with this program back then. I remember as a kid literally filling up the back of the station wagon and packing either the dinning room or my grandmother's bedroom with 2-liters, 12- & 24-packs. She would have to special order to make sure they had enough for her to come in and get.

We really stocked up in the winter when there was always a possibility of getting snowed in by living so far from town. We always had some sort of Coke around the house.

My grandmother was such a huge fan, it was easy to get her a Christmas present--Coke memorabilia. I still find myself buying it sometimes even though it's been shortly over three years since she passed away from Breast cancer. I guess it's just because I'm so used to it.

CVS Tonight

Finally got the printer and internet working long enough to get the Glade coupons I posted about earlier today. Knowing our CVS, I really wanted to get out and grab that deal before they were all gone. So, we headed out.

Fortunately, they still had all their candles in stock. All the sprays were gone. The only sent they had in the oil ones was Clean Linen with a, sadly, crappy looking snowflake design. (I'm sure they don't all look like these, but the pattern was crooked.)

The sale is 2/$6.00 and if you spend $12 you get $4 ECB's back.

I knew we only had to use our Green Bag Tag (GBT) once more for another $1 ECB. So, I knew we'd only be paying $5 plus tax, but getting the $5 back in ECB's.

Long enough coupon there? I thought so, but that's pretty normal when we go to CVS.

Here's three of the four we got, as my husband promptly took the other to the bathroom when he went to take a bath:

The only thing I have to complain about at the slightest is that $5 bill we spent was all the money we have until Saturday. We have a little bit of change left, hence me counting out change for the $0.84 and using a lot of nickels. So glad that the people at the register don't mind.
