Straight From the Horses' Mouth: Talk to the Farmers, Ranchers

Ever want to know what's going on with your food? I don't know how many of you go to the local farmers market but having been raised by a woman that used to supply the entire town with green beans, but we were asked questions. Of course, people back then (in the '90's) didn't tend to ask too many questions besides "Is it washed?" or "How many bushels?" or, best of all "How much?"

Well, if you're interested in speaking to some people that might just be the very ones that take care of the livestock that ends up on your family's plate or the ones that sow the seeds of your future vegetable melody, then check them out on Facebook!

They don't just put the food on your table, they put it on their own and provide for their families too. Don't hesitate to ask questions about food safety and production, chemicals used and how animals are treated. A good farmer or rancher will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have, because I'm sure their families have already asked everything you can imagine.

(Especially in-laws. They always ask a ton of questions, and awkward ones at that!)
