Today's Mail
Got a 1-load sample of Downy Unstoppables from Procter & Gamble.
You can get your own samples here:
Also received my husbands' Duluth Trading catalog, in a USPS package, torn in several pieces. The back reads:
WE CARE US Postal Service
Dear Valued Postal Customer:
I want to extend my sincere apology as you Postmaster for the enclosed document that was inadvertently damaged in handling by your Postal Service.
We are aware how important your mail is to you. With that in mind, we are forwarding it to you in an expeditious fashion.
The United States Postal Service handles over 202 billion pieces of mail each year. While each employee makes a concerted effort to process, without damage, each piece of mail, an occasional mishap does happen.
We are constantly working to improve our processing methods so that these incident will be eliminated. You can help us greatly in our efforts if you will continue to properly prepare and address each letter or parcel that you enter into the mailstream.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and sincerely regret any inconvenience that you have experienced.
YOUR POSTMASTER
Have you ever gotten this before? Honestly, the second to last paragraph annoys me. It was mail being sent to us and we had nothing to do with it, yet you still use this packaging? Really?
I can also haphazard a guess that the postmaster never even looked at it, as the package isn't signed and is just the standard white packaging they, apparently, use when you send really crappy looking mail.
We get mail torn and ripped all the time, but it was worse where we used to live on the other side of the county. I can only assume that damage is more from the mail carriers than any machines at the county post office.
My husband rarely gets stuff in the mail that isn't a bill, but they certainly manage not to tear those up. He looks forward to getting stuff like this, but this catalog is toast. Sort of sucks.
